With in-house financing, a practice loans money to its customers directly and takes on all responsibility of managing repayment, including the risk if the borrower defaults. With third-party financing, your practice outsources the lending, risk, and repayment process.

Are there monthly, annual, or one-time setup fees?

There is no annual fee, monthly maintenance fee, or setup charge. Cherry offers a quick and easy enrollment process with no hidden costs. Merchant processing fees apply, but they’re up to 50% lower than other financing companies.

What is your average approval rate?

Does Cherry require a down payment?

Yes. When patients are approved, they’ll make a small down payment using a traditional debit or credit card, such as Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. Clients can use any non-prepaid debit card or major credit card to complete their initial payment at checkout.

When using a credit card, a 2.99% processing fee applies, while payments made with a debit card linked to a checking account have no added fee. Please note that prepaid cards, including Cash App cards and gift cards, aren’t accepted. To confirm whether your card is prepaid, look for the word “prepaid” on the card or contact your card issuer directly.

Will you charge an origination fee or a prepayment penalty to our clients?

There are no origination fees, prepayment penalties, deceptive promotional periods, or deferred interest charges you might find with other lenders. Borrowers can make extra monthly payments and pay off their entire loan amount early without incurring any penalties. Late fees of up to $30 may apply for payment more than 10 days late.

How are refunds handled?

Refunds can be initiated within the transaction tab of the Provider Portal by selecting the dropdown of a completed transaction. Full refunds and partial refunds are available to choose from. Transactions that are older than 60 days are ineligible for refunds through the Cherry platform. To initiate a refund outside of the first 60 days, it is up to the practice to facilitate the refund directly with the borrower.

Full Refunds: A full refund cancels the borrower’s contract. The practice receives reimbursement from Cherry for processing fees, and the borrower receives a credit for any remaining balance owed.
Partial Refunds: A partial refund issues a partial credit to the borrower, not to exceed the full remaining balance. Cherry prorates and reimburses the practice’s processing fees. Partial refunds can be performed multiple times and only up to the full remaining balance.
